Who can stay in military lodging?

Army Lodging is available to Active Duty, Retirees, DoD civilians, and their sponsored guests. Air Force Inns are offered to Active Duty, retirees, NAF or DoD civilian employees, and sponsored guests. Coast Guard Recreational Lodging facilities are open to all authorized patrons.

How much do Air Force Inns cost?

The new lodging rates are: (1) $70 visiting officer quarters/visiting quarters; (2) $55 visiting Airman quarters; (3) $77 temporary lodging facilities; (4) $79 distinguished visiting quarters; and (5) $83 large distinguished visiting quarters.

Can visitors stay on base?

Yes, civilians can spend the night on a military base when visiting as a sponsored guest or family member of a service member. However, civilians cannot sleep in the barracks. The rules vary from one base to the next, but visitors typically need to leave designated areas by 10 PM.

Can 100% disabled veterans live on military bases?

No. If you are eligible for a DoD-issued retiree, Medal of Honor, or 100% disabled identification card, you should obtain and use the DoD-issued card to access DoD installations and privileges.

Can 100 disabled vets live on base?

Currently, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs offers four disabled veteran housing allowance grants for former service members with a 100 percent disability rating. You can use these additional benefits from the VA to modify your existing home or build a new one to accommodate your disabling condition.

Are Air Force Inns pet friendly?

Did you know that Air Force Inns are pet friendly? Cats and dogs only (two pets maximum); Lodging managers may waive this rule on a case-by-case basis. A pet fee of $10 per night (in addition to other lodging rates) applies. Additional cleaning fees may be assessed if your pet causes damage to the room or facility.

How many guests can I bring on base?

A military service member or spouse can sponsor one guest in their own vehicle, as long as that person has valid photo ID. To bring your own car on base, the service member will need to request a base pass, which should be done at least a week before you visit.

Where to stay when visiting McChord Air Force base?

Unaccompanied Service members (Sergeant and below) are billeted at the HHC Joint Base Reception Barracks. Temporary Lodging for Accompanied Service members is provided by IHG Army Hotels Evergreen Inn, a privatized hotel that offers an abundance of amenities, including pet-friendly suites. Lodging can fill up quickly.

Where to stay at Joint Base Lewis McChord?

The hotel is pet-friendly and features free breakfast and internet. Located across from Watkins Field on Lewis Main, the Historic Bronson Hall in Building 1020 offers comfortable accommodations in a quiet and friendly environment. Please note – guests must check-in at Rainier Inn to pick up keys for rooms in Bronson Hall.

How big are the lakeside cabins at JBLM?

We currently have four sizes of lakeside cabins available: one three-bedroom, two two-bedroom, six one-bedroom and four studios. One studio and one one-bedroom cabin are wheelchair-accessible. All cabins include standard kitchen appliances, dishes, TV, DVD, wireless Internet, bedding and private bath with towel service.
